The 2018 Sept/Oct LD topic is: “Resolved: In the United States, reporters ought to have the right to protect the identity of confidential sources.”

The rape victim CP generates competition through reporters having the right to protect the identity of their sources versus the sources having the right to protect their own identity. This CP says that instead of reporters being able to decide if they can publish the names of rape victims, the victims themselves should be able to decide. I will publish a more in depth explanation of the CP and aff answers to the CP next Friday.
